ok so you're all geniuses !!!
Ok so you've guessed how we did the TARDIS walk-around shot. Well almost. So far two people from all our entries are nearly there with their suggestions, and so we'll let you all know how we did it soon! Just time to email us and tell us how you thought we did it. Just a bit of lateral or common sense thought really!

footage at last!
Well we had a bit of a play around and managed to get a couple of clips to put up on the site. Doubtless more can follow if there's any interest - so if you fancy a peek then please navigate your way to our "Clips and Images" section where we will post bits and pieces from time to time; either of work-in-progress or finished sequences. David has now completed a first draft edit of episode 6 and this has prompted us to put up these clips just for fun.

Blakes Legend
Word gets to us that the sister production to Devious - 'Blake's Legend' has now been edited. Work on the effects is now ongoing. More news as and when! Like Devious, Blake's Legend has been in production for aeons - another production which depended on people's very rare spare time. If anyone wants to know more then contact us on our 'email us' page and we'll pass your comments on...

into the vortex - warning of temporary website instabilities ahead !!!
we're on the move! - both the TARDIS and this site are moving in the next few days! One has gone by road and the other via the medium of the web to a new server. The Tardis' local journey has been successful whereas the site move will doubtless get caught in the vortex and never be seen again - so here's just a quick note to warn you that the site may be down for a short while during this process!

we're still at it!
Well, we're still at it! David is currently working on an edit of episode five (of six) and we're thinking of combining the first three parts into 2. For the first time last week we saw a sequenced version of episode five. Sequenced - i.e. edited but not overtly trimmed or any decisions made on what to keep or reject. This edit is to give us a guide as to how to finally edit the part - as well as remind us just how many special effects need to be done. Oh yes, and we've put a few new photos from 2005 into the 'imagery' section...and they're not as dodgy as the one shown here appears to be...! Surely this is an out-take?!?!?!?

The Kids (and Teacher) of Patcham High !!!
Just a quick note to congratulate Rowlie Darby and Doctor Who Monthly for an excellent piece in this month's issue. A wonderful feature praising the scheme initially set up at Patcham High School near Brighton to encourage science-fiction reading by their English teacher Mr Darby. We managed to help out: in conversation with Rowlie, Ashley from the team arranged for a Devious dalek to go on loan to the school for the library and one was duly dispatched a year or two ago - and is still there!
"Chico" was one of the original three that had appeared on Comic Relief - it can be seen in the pic here with it's BBC-supplied different eye lens which we forgot to replace when we borrowed the prop back last May for our marathon 9-dalek filming session. Somehow that eye sticker got mislaid, which is a pity as we're normally very meticulous, especially as we also managed to return one Rowlie Darby who came along for that session and spent a lot of time squeezed into the prop!
Notwithstanding, nevertheless, and other long words (which can doubtless be etymologically determined in the calm but dalek-guarded environs of Patcham High Library) aside, we would like to say we were honoured to have played a small part in this worthwhile project, which has led on from the original plan - the kids now all being seasoned reviewers of the series. The Kids from Patcham High will doubtless feature in many more appraisals of the series in the future - a fine benchmark for the new series to be judged - and all down to the vision of their "Mr Darby"

print preview

Whilst not a lot is happening this week in the world of Devious (the team meet again later this week hopefully to refine how we're going to do the effects on 'the beach scene' - the ship is now to be a lightwave model we think which Ashley will struggle with!), we'd like to say you may now be able to see a different page design when you PRINT-PREVIEW or PRINT any pages from this site. Of course you must be fond of waffle if ever you do wish to print any pages out, or maybe you're pinning pictures from the production on your bedroom wall and lighting candles around an image of one of our cast. If you are then let us know, and we can put you in touch with some counselling.
You will have to be aware that the site displays as part of a frames page (not our choice but part of our current hosting arrangements) so you may wish to print the pages as ONLY THE SELECTED FRAME or ALL FRAMES INDIVIDUALLY but NOT the AS LAID OUT ON SCREEN setting in the print preview. Hope this helps...

new web design
Just a quick word to say "hope you like the new design". Well if you don't it's not going back to the old look. The menu at the top of the screen has some positioning issues at present and the fonts aren't quite as we want, but Ashley is working on this.
He's also trying to make the pages firefox and Mac compatible as well as for IE. If you've an old browser you may have some issues here as it may not display at all well, so please use our email form accordingly to let us know. You know the form - the one that's still on a page with the old styling, and once you're back in that twilight world you can still partially move round the old site - certainly enough to get lost so just use the devious menu item to return to the root if you get stuck - we WILL change that form - HONEST... Also, there's some new content dotted around the site - such as the dalek gun in the sets and props section...

more changes
Hi there - just a quick note to say we're working to add more content to the site - you'll find new sections opening (and closing!) as the content is rationalised. Eventually once all is set we may well put some video clips although we're wary of bandwidth issues. Until then the new stuff includes new images from our archive, as well as improved cast listings and a new section on behind-the-scenes (currently entitled 'crew', although this will change).
The intention is also to add an 'appearances' section, or 'events' which hopefully we can use to document past and upcoming things we have been involved in outside the normal Devious filming. Feel free to use the only part of the old site still working - the 'email us' but to give some ideas for the site!!! Of course that email section will be changed. We may also run a fun caption competition as long as it is good humoured! The sets and props area will be extended, and we were originally thinking of grouping the photos and screen captures in episode order, although it's perhaps better to keep everything mixed - we're not ready for John Cura's telesnaps just yet...
Of course, like the rest of Devious, the purpose is to entertain, and to celebrate the phenomenon that is Doctor Who

encouragement
(Ashley) went to the Dr Who exhibition on Brighton Pier yesterday - should have done some time ago as it's only 8 miles from his house - and if you're thinking of going then the advice is to go. Enjoy it - a time when the BBC is actively promoting Dr Who again with all its might. Great to see props and costumes from this new series - as a prop and set builder for Devious it was good to see and make comparisons - and to take heart and encouragement to see we're on the right lines!!! Devious apart though, it was a great show and Adam (Ashley's son of nearly two) took great deligfht from seeing the exhibits!
Encouragement also today for the BADWAS barbeque - the Brighton Area Dr Who Appreciation Society has been going now for simply ages - throughout the dark times before the series returned. Many happy meetings we recall going to over the years. Sadly the trio of us from Devious don't get to see them very much nowadays but we continue most definitely to give our support. If you live in Sussex and want to join them then their website should be easy to find (we may even link to it ourselves - or ought to).

new web pages
Hi there - just a quick note to say that Ashley's been trying to reorganise the site a bit to make things easier. So if things disappear, look strange or have just plain gone mad, then he's doing his job well. Beats building sets - NOT...So you may still see previous incarnations of the site now and again as you move your way around - the "contact us" form for example has yet to be converted into the new format. Please bear with us over the next week or so!!

SPOILERS? - JUST GUESSES
Interesting this spoiler alert business... We were worried about saying about our plot similarities to the new Dr Who series and talking about the Emperor being in it etc. Well we're only making these comments based on what we've seen on television and read in comments by RTD in DWM - so in effect we know nothing! Zilch. The end result of all this is that in the excitement about the new series finale we've let slip some of our ending too!!!
However if we're proved right then so what - it's just a bit of fun isn't it? If the new series has had a similar storyline with emperor daleks, flying daleks, attacking people through time and a regeneration-headed doctor then it just proves that given the chance to write the ultimate Dr Who story, you'd very likely want to give the Doctor a series of adventures leading up to such a denouement.
And you'd use fleets of daleks and the emperor 'cause it'd look brilliant. We just wrote the best story we could without worrying about how it'd be realised - or even if it could be. The difference is that RTD and the BBC can realise those same sort of creative ambitions. And it's looking good! Not that we're watching the trailers or looking at the internet or buying newspapers now...
11 June 2005
Well, it certainly sounds like the Emperor...
As guessed last week by Ashley* we seem to have the new Doctor meeting the Emperor Dalek (we think) next week in Dr Who [the new series] after a battle with loads of daleks. He's had a series of adventures where he's not been really sure what's being going on due to a time war - it only comes together at the end. And he's in danger of losing that new body...We all know who comes next...
and meanwhile in the strange strange land of Devious which we occasionally visit over a period of years and years with no money but loads of enthusiasm...
As written over a decade ago by David and Ashley we seem to have the new Doctor meeting the Emperor Dalek in Dr Who [Devious] after a battle with loads of daleks. He's had a series of adventures where he's not been really sure what's being going on - due to disturbances in his time stream - it only comes together at the end. And he's in danger of losing that new body... We all knew who came next ...

Hmm, some similarities indeed - there are plenty more but seeing as we've no money, influence and have just pottered along with ours it's all a great coincidence. Quite how we'll all react when we see the great looking Emperor the BBC and the Mill would have created will doubtless be interesting to watch! Don't worry we're not trying to make any point other than highlight the coincidental similarities - we're just happy that the series is back on and so damn successful too! As we've always said, we've done this for fun and the experience and it's fun to see that we've been on a similar course all this time! Albeit there's a lot of differences too - besides the money differences there's the slight lack of acting ability, occasional wobbly sets and some odd lines here and the fact that instead of roomfulls of computer geniuses doing the effects there's just a few of us in all. Ho hum. Still, we're still determined to finish ours - at least the filming is done now - just the editing, sound, music, computer effects and model filming to do...
Our plot isn't exactly the same as we're making you think here in this news item, although superficially things do seem similar !!! And as for whether our interim Doctor meets the Emperor like the Ninth and Second do, well, he may just. It was something we did want to keep secret but then quite frankly we've no problem with it now - perhaps we just wanted to say yeah well we can do that too! You want emperors and flying daleks - we got 'em. Only we didn't spend as much time and money of them so they won't look as good. But I bet our enthusiasm was at a similar level to the Beeb's !! Listening to Russell T Davies on the Confidential programmes is a great reassurance that the series is in the right hands for a great future.
We hope you've enjoyed following our own progress on our own project here on the website. With the occasional hints, clues and pics we've strung you along over the years with tales of its development and we've greatly been encouraged by the emails you send us (sorry we don't reply to all as we ought to). We will try to complete this marathon we've set ourselves and we thank you for your continued interest. It won't be a patch on the official programme but it'll have the same enthusiasm behind it.
* - not just Ashley but loads of you all on the world wide wotsit have made the same prediction of course we're not claiming anything here !!! and whats more it not even necessarily correct! the wolf could be a wolf !!!! (although more likely some merge between a high ranking timelord and the emperor...)

the Titchmarsh Tardis etc
Well, the Devious Police Box was featured in the 20th Century Antiques programme on Sunday last and looked good we thought. It was shown twice - once to introduce a prolific Dr Who collector and his great collection, and then to close the show with Alan stepping into the box after saying goodbye. Thanks again to the Beeb for looking after it when it was away down in Cornwall - it's now back in storage awaiting it's next day out...!
Also Ashley was featured briefly as an "expert" (as if) on daleks on Charlie Crocker's evening BBC Southern Counties radio show last night (8th) to comment on a story about a dalek being stolen from Wookey Hole. The tongue-in-cheek item lasted a few minutes and was "great fun to do" says Ashley! Thanks to Charlie for remembering us !! Any time you want an "expert" on ... (well anything really - Ashley can waffle on anything) he'll be at the end of his 'phone awaiting...!

TARDIS TRAVELS - UPDATE
29 May 2005
THIS IS MY GUESS
Ashley just wanted to say that here and now he is suggesting, nay guessing, that the new series of the Dr Who series will end with an appearance by the Emperor Dalek. The recent DWM says that there's something secret, so Ashley wants to be shot down in flames or applauded - one way or the other it seems. He's determined to go on record to make this guess and states he has no insider knowledge (or would seek it) and so this guess is presumably a typical fan's thoughts (or hopes) for the new series finale. We know he's a desperate dalek fan having built eight of the blighters.
What you may not know is that one of the reasons DEVIOUS started is because Ashley wanted to make a model movie scene around the (1967) Emperor model he had made to go with his "Sevans" daleks. That snowballed into the idea of making a full movie and has involved many many people over the fourteen (as South Today specify!) or longer (as we suspect) duration of this project. Ashley's modelwork has been used extensively in scenes, as well as some of his grandfather's models from the 1940s (the "beach scene" uses something rather nice). That first Emperor model has now been restored ...
So there we are - Ashley says the Emperor is returning but that it will look different again from the 1967 model - more updated. Of course the Big Bad Wolf may actually be a .... wolf.
Ashley hasn't gone round all the web site forums to make this suggestion, as there's already plenty of speculation along similar lines it seems (as he now finds out 13th June after actually looking round the internet for once!!!) - it was just an opinion based on the comments by RTD in DWM and general thoughts on how things were likely to go...

Tardis travels
Hi there - sorry we haven't got further with images from our appearance on South Today - or even any video footage. We've made our own mpg file of the interview but we can't put it on this site until we get permission from the BBC and we haven't asked yet so bear with us! Anyway, watch out for the Devious TARDIS as it's soon to appear on the telly nationwide !!!
Yes, a few weeks ago it went on down to Goonhilly to appear on an edition of the new 20th Century Antiques show hosted by Alan Titchmarsh. We even had it valued so we're now taking more care of it!!! More news as and when...

DEVIOUS on SOUTH TODAY

Well, we were on it ! Last Thursday about quarter to seven BBC 1. After a good intro from the presenters and a clip from the DALEK erpisode from the new series a two and a half minute (or so) segment was shown with team members David, Ashley, Stephen and Tony featured prominently. We'll have some pictures from it if we can get permission (even though it's us we feel we should check with the BBC) and we're hoping to see if the BBC South website could provide a web-download version of the interview so that people can see it further afield than Sussex Hampshire and Dorset!! More news and images as and when!
And wasn't the BBC DALEK episode excellent. Powerful yet moving. Shearman at his best.

More than Rumours - Devious on BBC South Today THIS WEEK (hopefully)
Well, the BBC came along yesterday and re-interviewed David and Ashley for a segment to appear on BBC ONE's South Today programme this coming week (hopefully - election and disasters permitting presumably). This is all to do with the upcoming DALEK episode in the Doctor Who tv series on Saturday night.
Last year you may recall that props and sets from Devious appeared in South Today segments featuring the Doctor Who connection with the South of England. What you may not know until now is that the same film crew came and filmed us filming! Our first May 2004 session was captured on BBC film as well as Devious film (all right yes we know it's mini-DV and not film, calm down dear it's just syntax).
The crew were with us for five hours and got some interesting stuff (we hope). Anyway there was a plan to get some of this shown but the resultant footage was too long for one of the South Today segments last July and so we did not appear.
Now with the appearance of the daleks on the telly and the heightened interest in all things Doctor Who, our interviews and clips have been taken off the shelf, dusted down (not much dust though in 9 months but there you are) and will form part of a 3-5 minute segment to be shown this week within the South Today programme.
To make them more dalek-biased and to reformat the footage to fit a short slot David and Ashley were re-interviewed briefly yesterday evening (Monday) to provide new linking material for the piece.
We're looking forward to it immensely here at Devious Towers. We know there are some old clips with old half-done effects in the bits to be shown, and Ashley is seen sitting IN a dalek for his interview (something he said he'd never do on film) but no matter - it's all harmless fun! We've had no previews of what was shot back last year and so we're looking forward to seeing new footage of our shoot in the dalek control room from last year - someone else's perspective on our work!
We've sent them some clips from this January and March filming sessions and so you may see some new bits. For all of you who ask us when you're going to see some Devious then here's your answer. It should whet your appetite and spur us on to complete the epic. And if it all helps to publicise the REAL Doctor Who series episode this coming Saturday then we're glad to help in our own way!!!!
More news as and when! Remember because of the election and the nature of magazine news programmes such as this the segment may not appear so fingers crossed!

BBC South and Devious - rumours

Hi there - we're getting unconfirmed hazy sketchy rumours of an appearance by some elements from Devious in a forthcoming edition of BBC South's South Today - more news as and when. You may recall some of our props appeared last summer in a Doctor Who in the South set of features...When we know some more we'll let you know.
In other news, Colin and / or Wendy Vincent - friends of Devious (Colin and son Christopher are some of our experienced dalek operators) may well be appearing in the Alan Titchmarsh-hosted Antiques programme on BBC1 on Thursday evening - or on one Thursday soon - the programme had an edition filmed in Brighton.

New Doctor Rumours
Now that Christopher Eccleston has joined and will soon be leaving the rank of "current Dr Who" we'd just like to confirm rumours that Tony Garner, our "interim Dr Who" has in fact not been asked to feature in the new series as the Tenth Doctor. If he had an agent he would have also confirmed this. This totally expected announcement comes as the world of Dr Who fandom is in turmoil over who should accept the role and become the next tennant of this coveted part. We at Devious are just thankful that the series is on again, and have always given it our support - as if the BBC needed it!!!
And a quick few lines from a Mr Terry Wogan, esteemed radio broadcaster from the same place that Stephen works... "The news that Bernie Eccleston is to give up his starring role in Dr Who after just one series has created alarm and despondency among television viewers. For heaven's sake, give the little fellow a chance! He has enough on his plate with a wife nearly three times his size and running Formula 1." ... which we really liked.
More news soon, including a short video clip (hurrah) and some news on our Tardis police box prop...
26 March 2005
He's Back - and it's about Time!
Now where have we heard that headline before? Back in 1996 when Devious had just filmed the Jon Pertwee scene in fact! 1996 - a false start for the television series in a way, and a shame, as Paul McGann was an excellent choice as Doctor, and to see him handover the role today to Christopher Eccleston would have been a treat. Still, that's one for the flashback perhaps. Time to look ahead now. Time for a new start. Time for the return of a series that will doubtless encourage more efforts like Devious from others out there perhaps. Time to encourage others to dream of the future, the past and to worlds beyond. Time for others to experience the magic and involve the imagination as the "classic" series did for us. We've had fun making our version of Doctor Who; with our Doctor (The Two-and-a-Half-th) and we will finish our epic and make it the best we can with the time and resources we have, and we hope you'll all get to see bits someday - but today we all sit back and watch the professionals at work. We hope for the best - in today's world fixated by global warming, politics; a focus for the miserable we need something that brings back excitement, optimism and a few healthy scares.
Welcome back Doctor Who
24 March 2005
DEVIOUS on the RADIO !!
I've just got back from appearing on the local radio this morning (Ashley speaking here). Along with Stephen Cranford I've just done two short interviews for BBC Southern Counties Radio regarding Doctor Who - our effort Devious, and some thoughts on the new series. Great fun - unlike seasoned broadcaster Stephen I've not done this sort of thing before so it was a little nerve-racking aforehand but then when "on air" (as these people call it!) it was fine!
We were unfortunately without our third member David Clarke who was unavailable which was a shame but we muddled through! Can't remember now what we were asked but we were positive about the new series and hopefully gave people a bit of an insight into the 15-year trail that has been Devious.
We spoke of working with Jon Pertwee and Hugh Lloyd, and John Radford the presenter asked (like a lot of you do) what will happen to Devious now it's been filmed. Well, we didn't know; saying it is a labour of love; a piece of art in a way, although we weren't averse to the suggestion by the presenter that something is done with it for Children in Need by the BBC. Go on then !!! We've always said we'd do anything to help with a charitable and worthy cause.
Anyway, there you go - a bit of fun as they say - three minutes of chat to entertain the good people of Surrey and Sussex and Brighton. If you heard it and raised a smile then thats fine with us. Must go now and sit in my special chair with my name on the back!!!! (the one in the room with the star on the door!)
22 March 2005
more FINAL FILMING pictures
See the Filming - March 2005 section for some more images from our "FINAL" filming session. We say "FINAL" rather than FINAL as you never know - we may have to redo a bit with a better location assuming we feel suitably motivated! The website editor received a set of images from Stephen's digital camera just yesterday, and these pics have been rushed to the site! It will be interesting to see how the footage eventually turns out from these scenes of the Covellitor planting a bomb, since the images shown here currently show everything in bright colour with no "mood" added. Still, that's the fun awaiting us in phase 2 of Devious - the effects, editing and cgi...
Set-wise everything's now in storage mode, with the console having been moved to Ashley's after spending the last few years at Stephen's. Suitably wrapped and protected it'll be awaiting a loan, sale or whatever from now on... The sets will be protected in case of further calls on their services (only last week a well known broadcasting company known for transmitting the original series borrowed something from the Devious store...- more news later)
14 March 2005
MAIN DEVIOUS FILMING ... F I N I S H E D ! ! !
Yes, it's true - we've finished all the live action required filming! Meaning we've some modelwork to film and we may repeat a couple of scenes with better locations in the summer if we feel like it. But will we? The edit will tell us. The main thing is we need to sit back and celebrate just for once. Break out the champers! Well, to be honest the moment passed rather strangely - certainly for Ashley who was very ill with flu during the shoot and only came along because it was the last filming - otherwise he'd have stayed in bed. "Well, that's it" said David as the last shot was completed about midnight last Wednesday night, and we all just went "great", or "righto" or something equally inane. Still it will all sink in sooner or later.
A couple of images below from this session, along with larger versions and more in the FILMING - MARCH 2005 section now...
Blimey - we've finished...
Hang on, there's the modelwork, editing, special effects, sound, music, ...
12 March 2005
Griffin again!!

Just got this shot through from Neil Jones - brother of Mark - taken at the recent premiere of Griffin. A great piece of work, very animated and a great character. Let's hope for the best for this creation and hope we'll see a lot more of him and his creator Mark. Photo shows Mark (right) with Griffin and Ashley...

March and Doctor Who
Well it's a big month for Doctor Who. With the new series debuting later this month it's high time Devious' filming was completed. Plans to finish tonight (1 March) have been scuppered due to the set location not being quite ready, and so it's expected we'll finish in the next few weeks. We won't mention it until it's done! In the meantime here's a few new images from the January filming - also repeated full size in the filming section (jan 2005)...
28 February 2005
yes we know !!
Before you say anything, yes we know the site menus are being a bit strange at the moment. The menu that we will be using on this site in the future is strangely manifesting itself in the here and now. A time ripple has led to it arriving in only part of this site, causing confusion wherever it goes. Please bear with us whilst we work on this interim and sort it out!!!
Oh yes, and we're filming tomorrow evening - the final 2 minutes or so to complete the footage (even though we may repeat some of it later this year if we get a good scenic opportunity).
21 February 2005
More this and that
Well, we've delayed our short bit of filming another week. If it isn't done in the next week or two it'll be done later in the year, say May, which will be a shame, 'cause if we do it next week we'll have completed all the necessary filming for Devious. Rather neatly just before the new series starts! We've been a sort of stop-gap for our Whovian interests as we did start not too long after the "classic" series ended on BBC1 (in reality year or two after but we were mulling the idea over back then). Still, it's all just a hobby and a bit of fun!!
This weekend Ashley went to the Brighton Modelworld (with his son Adam, but sans dalek) and met up with some members of the Dalek Builders Guild. Fine fellows, all of them! Great dedication and fine specimens of skaro's finest. Absolutely brilliant workmanship and dedication. Our own daleks were built as props and have been bashed about a lot and aren't quite so lovely close-up, but they were never intended to be anything more, however the daleks from these guys (and gals, although didn't see any - are there any?) were great to look at. We've agreed to swap links, and so as soon as we get to email chat we will rectify this glaring omission from our links list. Maybe next year we'll trundle some of our daleks along and join their compatriots! Good luck!!!
09 February 2005
this and that
Well, couple of things - firstly just to say those of us from Devious who went to the World Premiere of "Griffin" thoroughly enjoyed the evening. A great film and worthy of more showings - in a cinema near you! (Go to their site to see how you can help get another showing...) - sounds good for the future for this project - a follow up surely must/ought to happen!!!
Also it looks like we're going to do a tiny bit of filming in the next week or two - just following up on two shots we forgot to do earlier, so the trusty corridor sets will be wheeled out again (but which design? - the complex already shows off two distinct architectural phases !!!) - as well as a dalek or two! More news as and when - and some more pics from January we promise!
Also good to see some daleks are going to this year's Brighton Modelworld show - 4 we believe from the Dalek Builders Club. Good luck chaps! Solidarity!! It'll be great fun for audience and exhibitors alike - we took the Devious radio-controlled Black Dalek a couple of times courtesy of our Robot Wars friends and you never know we may be back....! Great publicity for the new BBC series too - excellent timing!
22 January 2005
GRIFFIN THE MOVIE - PREMIERE 23rd JANUARY WORTHING DOME -
BE THERE!!!
Thanks to Jed who emailed us regarding the film Griffin - the world premiere of which is Sunday 23rd January 2005 at the Dome in Worthing West Sussex. He asked us whether we knew anything about it? Well, yes, Griffin is a Mark Jones film and features many people who have been connected with Devious over the years! Go to their site for more details - it's at www.griffinthemovie.comGood luck to Mark and the team for the premiere - sorry we didn't get news on this site beforehand! Break a leg!
21 January 2005
console yourself, it's only a set...
Well, after the latest batch of filming we've been able to dispose of some sets - the archway door has seen it's last materialisation, and the last parts of the control room sets used last May will be junked very soon once they have been measured and photographed ready for the model versions to be built.
The main console and tardis walls will be retained for the forseeable future although we welcome any thoughts people have.
The console was last seen on BBC1 last summer when South Today borrowed it, and I imagine it is always available for a deserving cause to borrow all the time we have it. It's being prepared for storage in the next few weeks - Ashley particularly is keen to retain the set somewhere - he remembers the hours spent with Stephen creating this edifice! More news as and when -along with some more pics from the Jan filming!

January 2005 Filming a Success
Being superstitious, Ashley has dated this news item for tomorrow!. And superstition played a part in the build up to this latest filming session - i.e. tempting fate - and so we didn't want to show too much of the sets and stuff before we had got footage in the can. We've managed to get within a hairsbreadth now of finishing all live action filming - there's a couple of minutes worth to do perhaps in February (or later this year when it's warmer as the final piece may well be shot outside!!)
Here's a few pics to show you a bit of what we filmed this last weekend...
The Doctor and the Covellitor with the ammunition box in Auriga's Tardis ...

Ashley working on the console ensuring the Eiffel Tower (yes, the Eiffel Tower) is in the right position on the console...

The Doctor receives a call on the communicator whilst in the power room...

The console from a great height (but still within the set's full height !!!)...

crew members Nicola and Tim assist with Ringo and Mike getting into position. That's Ringo and Mike inside the daleks - don't worry we haven't started naming the daleks in the script (as per the cybermen in Tenth Planet)

And finally here's Chaldar, Covellitor and Aturo from the rescue party trapped in the Resonance Chamber during a time ripple. Looks painful! In the story it causes them to age - as Timelords we are not sure how old their current bodies are already - however their physical appearance alters once they leave the chamber.
This particular plot point has been rather convenient due to the number of years we have been filming (one or 2 weekends a year on average) and the tendency of our actors to age..!!!.

More images soon ..... (we've 20 tapes to look through before we can contemplate a rough edit...)
