some footage at last...
Well, at last we have some clips for you. Unfinished footage but nevertheless some actual footage. Lots of you have been asking for this over the years, and now we've been doing some editing at last we can try out some bits on the website. Maybe we'll get confident and include larger screen size and longer segments but for now here's just a couple for you to SAVE TARGET AS and view. As always we'd like to emphasise all this we do for fun... You may want to fiddle with the brightness when you watch these!
The Doctor picks up the amphora and after using it to push back the monster up to the ceiling (as you do!) he fiddles with the top of it and the console is revealed in the room much to his surprise. Mind you, the room has tardis roundel walls around it so the appearance of the console isn't really a surprise - the Doctor expected something of this sort. At this stage in the story the Doctor and Bradley / Auriga are on the run from the daleks in the complex and have entered this hidden chamber. The daleks can't see them on their scanners... The clip is only short and without sound or music and is very dark at present! And yes, the monster is currently somewhat invisible.
The Covellitor is out in the upper areas of the complex planting some explosives and is having difficulty contacting the Doctor, who is in Auriga's console room having a few problems of his own... This clip is much longer than the one above, and again does not have any effects or corrected sound (you'll hear the floor clearly for example) and is also very dark at the moment (the lighting levels for the console room at this stage are meant to be dark although may seem dark out of context). The dialogue is also inconsistent volume-wise and we're not necessarily using the exact takes for the scene. Once there's some music and effects then it'll look a lot better.
As we said above it's all done in the name of fun - a hobby - with no great desire to be anything more than an amateur staging - a homage to the real thing - just our take with our limited resources. Maybe with enough effects and more work we'll help to disguise our limitations a bit. In showing these clips we show you something at the raw stage and later we'll show you what we managed to do with it! We have of course got clips of varying qualities and states of completion and hope to add a few more if you are interested. We don't think the BBC or the Royal Shakespeare Company need quake in their boots but rather join in and appreciate the fun we have in doing all this in our spare time.
And isn't that the 100th time you've read all that about "all done in our spare time etc etc etc" !!!
