It's the wrong light !

Just a quick note to reassure you we are still meeting regularly - the new team being a bit more of a MAD grouping perhaps than a SAD one. However the M in the MAD (Mark) assures us he is not a replacement for Stephen, just someone to help us along with the project at the moment. Stephen is immensely busy appearing on radio and television unlike the rest of us in that respect !

More ADR

Not a very exciting news item really, but just to say we have been progressing well on the sound for episode one, with Mark wading through the endless countryside, plane and main road noises - and removing them. It's amazing to hear the difference. He is also ensuring we have a good background noise which covers any blips and clicks etc. This isn't something like a background noise of a planet as per Star Trek (classic) or the noise in Destiny of the Daleks, but a very subtle blanket of sound.

Pertwee 20 - the Gathering

Well, we finally got together to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of "The Pertwee Day" as we still call it. Sadly Ian and Arthur couldn't make it on the night and they were missed, but then life gets in the way as always (that's why we've been at this Devious malarkey for so long).

Reflections 2015 - updated

Thanks to everyone who came and saw our exhibit at the Brighton Modelworld 2015. Great stuff. We had a great time and enjoyed people's reactions to the sets and props. Rather than the sets and props languishing in store we want people to experience walking around the console that was used in Curse of Fatal Death and see some daleks that have had some mileage over the years. They're only fan-made (to see the real ones you should go to Cardiff!) but they have been around a bit, as it were!

Pertwee 20

In a few weeks there will be a select gathering at one of our houses to commemorate 20years since we filmed "that scene" with Jon Pertwee. Something at the time that seemed amazing to us, something we hadn't ever dreamt could happen. Still, it did, due to a chain of interconnecting events we hadn't expected when we started Devious all those years ago.

So, we will reassemble at Stephen's new house and raise a glass to the memory of a great day.

And who knows, we may upload something to the interweb after our evening!

Dalekworld 2015

Last minute stuff now in progress for the annual display of Devious props and sets etc. This year the display is slightly different with a notable addition. Hope to see some of you there. The Brighton Modelworld show is on from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd 10am until 5ish at the Brighton centre on the seafront. Great venue, great fun.

And to celebrate we've started a new section on the site called DALEKWORLD. Also please note we have had to combine the stage plays into one menu item for now until the new web design comes on stream. "Bear with".

2014 Brighton - dalek details

The major change this year dalekwise was the re-construction of a new dalek. Ashley decided to use an old dalek middle he found in his garden (yes, honestly) and slat it in the style of Death to the Daleks, as 2014 marks the fortieth year anniversary of that Jon Pertwee story. And we are all Jon Pertwee fans as you may imagine! Here's some of the construction...

2014 Brighton

2014 saw two major changes from the previous exhibit. We were now positioned back near the main windows of the Brighton Centre, so that the sun (such that it was) could stream in through the TARDIS walls and create a brilliant effect. Actually, as planned, the walls looked great just with the normal light coming in through the windows - overcast weather seemed to do the trick.
