From Mark in the Devious Team…

I do a daily doodle diary and on the date (9-5-25) I found myself enjoying a bit of Pertwee (pronounced perr-twee, as I was informed by an old friend of his that was a patient of mine when I worked in the community – they were in WW2 together; a war time tit-bit being 80 years of V.E day).

The pronunciation became anglicized during John’s acting career. Anyway, I was in the mood for the James Bond of Doctor Who and only one of two men who can pull off a frilly shirt (the other being Jimmy Hendrix), using Venusian Aikido or Martian Karate-ing his way through Autons in the first story of JP’s second series. Classic !
