We recently found some old footage of us filming the end of Episode One. This featured Heather as Aquilia meeting up with a dalek. It is best if you have seen the episode before you watch this! This behind the scenes footage was recently copied onto a pc with the filename behindthedalek for some reason and it has stuck. We’ve put it up onto youtube at our normal channel so you can look back at those heady 1990s when we were all oh so young and naive. Some of our followers have pointed out that they were not even born then. Ouch. Thanks for that – we feel even older now!

This ten minute peek back into the 1990s shows the Devious gang hard at work trying to get the short scene done amid a load of distractions. This is footage from a documentary cam used by Stephen, and you can see David bravely getting on with the filming amongst the many distractions – such as advice and comments (helpful and not-so-helpful), aeroplane noise and a pack of hounds. Then there’s the fading light and the logistics of moving the dalek around. All in all a fond look back into some of our earliest filming. We hope you will enjoy this warts-and-all footage (we’ve added some captions and the odd bleep).
